Roads

In real life situations, vehicles and pedestrians go past in a continuous regulated pattern. There should not be a sudden surge in one moment and complete inactivity the next. Many people are wary of having their house or front door situated in a position that clashes with the flow of traffic. However, if there is a resting area in front, or to the left or right of the door, what results is a situation known as “ma tou dai jian”. In feng shui terms, the door sits in the south and faces north. This means it is a water site, a good site where wealth and procreation are concerned.

Case Study

Mr. Lin was a senior public administrative officer in Hong Kong before he emigrated to Vancouver, Canada. Like many, he had doubts over the future of the colony after the 1997 handover. He considered starting a business, rather than living off savings. But the ordeal was to find a good location for his restaurant business. In some cases, where he liked the building, the rent was too steep, but in a cheaper location, the business may not be that good. Mr. Lin finally found a location he thought was suitable and wanted to consult a feng shui master (geomancer). He tried one geomancer that told him the cars on the road appear to be charging towards the main door, so a sure sign of bad luck will befall him where money and children are concerned, and that for $20.000, he can rectify the situation. Needless to say, Mr. Lin was taken aback. Coincidentally, I was at the tailor shop next door and Mr. Lin sought my advice.

Analysis

This is a good site. Though there appears to be a clash, it is only confined to the traffic intersection. Fortunately, it is neutralized by the fact that vehicles have to stop at the junction. Hence, what we have here is the “bai guan chao gong” and ma tou dai jian” position. He can go ahead with your plans with no worries.

True enough, within one year, his business took off and the restaurant raked in tens of thousands of dollars a month. The following year, his wife gave birth to a son.
